Spooky Halloween Graveyard Cake

October 31, 2015

I love the fun things you can do and create for Halloween. Everyone is a kid, even the big kids. Yes, that’s grownups. There are crazy gross looking foods, fun and silly scary desserts, and amazing costumes. My favorite thing that I make every year is a grave yard cake. It is so fun and yummy and the kids love it! I wanted to share it with you! These are so fun to bring to a party! Everyone is so impressed for something so simple. Continue Reading…

Ideas for a Snowflake Tea Party

July 29, 2015

We are in New Orleans for a couple of weeks hanging out with family and of course it is hot! No, I mean like really, really hot. Have you ever been here in the summer? My mom called me a couple of months ago and said, “I think we should have a tea for the kids.” “Great,” I say. Tea parties are one of my specialties! I love doing them. Continue Reading…

Cream Soda Red, White, and Blue Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Icing

May 25, 2015

Here is another take on the Cream Soda cake that I did a couple of months ago. I needed to make some cupcakes for a Memorial Day picnic. I figured I would just do the cream soda cake in cupcake form because I had a lot of cooking to do for the picnic and this was definitely taking the easy way out. If you haven’t heard of these soda cakes, you are definitely missing out. Continue Reading…

Bison Enchiladas with Salsa Verde

May 22, 2015

I love enchiladas! I used to live in Atlanta and there were so many great Mexican restaurants. I live in California now and for some reason there are not very many around here. Go figure. Also, we have three little ones and don’t get out to dinner as often as we used to. When we have Mexican food, it’s usually because I make it at home. I am by no means an expert but necessity is definitely the mother of invention and I’m trying here. Continue Reading…

Rose Cheesecake Mousse in Dark Chocolate Cups with Pistachios

May 9, 2015

I think this is one of  the fanciest things I’ve ever made. I’ve been seeing these chocolate cups around and have been dying to try this for myself. I had no idea how to do it but made some good guesses with only one disastrous mishap. I will share it with you so you don’t make the same mistake that I did with an eight foot radius of spattered chocolate in the kitchen. Continue Reading…

Easy Guinness Chocolate Cake with Super Rich Chocolate Icing

April 27, 2015

Well it looks like I’m doing a series on these cakes. I am just so obsessed with them. Not just because of how incredibly easy they are to make, but because of how moist and unbelievably delicious they are. It’s really surprising. I was in the grocery store today and realized that I have all this Guinness at home and thought that might be nice to mix with a chocolate cake. Plus it’s Friday. Why not have dessert? Continue Reading…

Smoked Corned Beef and Cajun Cabbage

March 17, 2015

St. Patrick’s Day is getting close and I’m here to give you the Cajun version of corned beef and cabbage. That doesn’t mean you can’t eat it all year long. This stuff is amazing. When my dad first smoked the corned beef, I was pregnant and could not tolerate the taste or smell of smoke. But I did taste it, and I loved it. Smoked corn beef is by far the best and tastiest way to eat corned beef. And this cabbage is “not ya Irish Mama’s cabbage.” Continue Reading…

How to Make Pizzas on the Grill

February 26, 2015

Mmmmm… pizza. Who doesn’t love it? But I have to tell you that it’s even better when you make it on the grill. The grill gives it that smokey grill flavor with the hot and bubbly cheese, the lighlty charred lines of the grill marks on the crust, the melding together of veggies and meat.  It’s pretty easy and it’s so fun for a party to Continue Reading…
